A quarter of the year. Done and dusted. That time has fast been spent. And here we are already, in April. How is your 2017 progressing?
At the end of 2016, I wrote about setting objectives for 2017 which would provide a guiding compass in this busy and often overwhelming life. I had not anticipated each month to go by so quickly, which has brought me to the point of reviewing my performance against my objectives.
Reviewing objectives is important to know whether you are on the right track to achieve what you set out to, by the end of the year. There may be objectives on your list which are no longer applicable, but only remove them if that is the case. Not because the objective is too hard or you cannot be bothered to work towards it. By doing this, chances are that by the end of the year, you will be disappointed that you did not at least try.
Maybe you are reading this and thinking you did not set objectives at the start of the year. That is ok, get a piece of paper and write down on New Year’s Eve what you would like to look back on and say you achieved. There. Those are your goals, now break them down into small monthly achievable tasks to get you to the end post.
Do not be disheartened if you are not on track or if you had a New Year’s resolution which has fallen by the wayside. You still have 9 more months to go out there and make 2017 your best year yet. Do not settle for less than you are capable of achieving. Because in the end, we will regret the things we did not do, rather than the things we did do.
